#DOswts392 Sketch Inspiration Hop

Welcome back to The Handcrafting Hideaway! Today I bring you another blog hop from DO Stamping with the Stars (DOswts)!

Today we have another Sketch Inspiration Hop, which means we use a layout sketch as inspiration to make a card.

In addition to the sketch portion of this card challenge, the DO Stamper STARS have also been tasked to stick to a fall theme for any card we make this month. The fall theme includes topics like back to school, fall/autumn, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc.

The piece of white cardstock with colorful leaves was leftover from a watercolor project I made last month. (Side note: I really need to get better at posting my projects on my blog! Haha) Anyway, the leaves were so pretty that I couldn’t just throw it away. This was the perfect project to showcase the gorgeous colors!

The leaves were created using a Faux Watercoloring technique. Ink up a stamp with an ink pad (or marker) and then spritz some water on the inked stamp using a Water Spritzer. The more water you use, the less detail there will be when you stamp your image. Depending on the look you’re going for, you may want to stamp off your stamp on a scrap piece of paper once or twice to remove some of the ink and water.

With any watercolor technique I recommend playing around and testing it out on scrap paper before putting it on your final project.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! As always, make sure to live life creatively!
